The lost is FOUND!

I am in shock as I write this. I just can't believe that I am typing this out. Missy is home! Thank you Jesus!

At 4am this morning I was sound asleep. At 4:11am I heard a 'Yap!' followed by another 'Yap!'. I was like surely...I am hearing things! It's dark outside and i'm half asleep. I jump out of bed, look out the window, and holy cow! It's Missy! I yell to Chris 'Get up! Get up! She is home, go get her!'. I don't know why he had to get her, but I was just in shock. I guess I had to keep watch on her to make sure she wasn't leaving while he went out there. I watched her every second until Chris got out there.

She had crawled back under our fence and was at our side yard wanting back in. When Chris went out to get her she whined in excitement. Chris brought her in here, and oh my gosh! She was a mess. She had dreads all over her head, her body was a crusty, muddy mess!

Did she escape that lady's house?! She must have! She was too fat to be on the run for a week and a half.

At 4:11am I called my mom. It was 2am there. She answered 'helloo?' half asleep. I said 'Mom!' She said what?! I said MISSY IS HOME! I can't even remember how the whole conversation went but we were both in shock. I wanted to tell my dad, but he was hunting, and had no reception. I texted John so had minimal cell coverage so he could relay the message. I was so excited, i'm still excited. She is home!

I called the lady at the vet as soon as they opened. I started dialing at 7:59am. She answered. I didn't even say who I was. I said 'Guess what?'. She said what? I said Missy is home! She yelled it to her office. 'Missy came home'. She knew exactly who I was and exactly who Missy was.

My normal vet couldn't care less that she was missing, but this vets office that wasn't even mine was so excited for me. Guess what?! They are now our new vet! I love them there, they are real. They have a heart...and they care!

I made an appointment to take her in, and then hung up and called the groomer. I needed a Groomer 911 call. She was in dyer need of some serious grooming/shaving/buzzing. They had an opening, which is rare when you call last minute. I took her in, and they were like 'Oh my!'. They had seen her before and knew what she normally looked like, it sure wasn't that!

When I left, I asked them if they could PLEASE keep her eye brows. They said they would.
I got a phone call later 'Missy is ready, but she's bald.' She's bald? The girl laughed and said 'But she has her eye brows!'.

She wasn't joking when she said bald! When I picked her up , I didn't even recognize her. She was bald! The only hair she had was her eye brows. Her beard that she has had since I got her was gone! It was like looking at my dad for the first time without his mustache. You don't even recognize him...Well I didn't recognize her. That's Missy?!

I'll take her! I'll take her bald and beardless...she's home, and she's mine, and we are happy!

When I took her to the vet they checked her out. She had been attacked by a million fire ants, and was scabbed from head to tail. I have to put ointment on her daily, and she is on antibiotics.
